Greenhouse Gas Plant Emissions Benchmarking Study
An Essential Assessment for Oil & Gas Plant Operators at the Forefront of Environmental Developments
Ziff Energy is undertaking a global benchmarking study of greenhouse gas plant emissions/CO2 from upstream E&P installations.
The technology used to benchmark GHG emissions was developed by
Shell Global Solutions, a leading technology research and solutions organization, recognized for their proficiency in both
upstream and downstream technologies. Shell Global Solutions approached Ziff Energy to develop the International expansion.
We believe that this is an important environmental
issue, and are pleased to bring this approach to a broader range of plant operators. We will be further evolving the content and direction of the study, with input from leading
plant operators,
and taking into account developments in the EU and US. Early participants will play a leading role in this evolution.
CO2 involves a real cost and increasingly, is a key issue in long term decisions. The EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) is
impacting corporate behavior and due to the leading position of Europe in developing Emissions Trading, there will be a significant impact in other world
operating regions, notably with the new Obama administration in the US. This benchmarking study will be valuable to the assessment of and
preparation for EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and GHG Policy Initiatives.
Make a positive contribution to controlling the environment challenges of the future!
The Greenhouse Gas Plant Emissions Study offers groundbreaking analysis! The boundaries of participating production facilities are defined to include all equipment from the well, or facility
import valve, through to the facility export valve, or take off point. The study examines energy efficiency and benchmark performance indicators
such as CO2 Emissions Index
(SCEI), Greenhouse Gas Emissions Intensity, and Energy Intensity.
Ziff Energy offers analysis on GHG CO2 performance metrics relevant to peer
fields and operator internationally, identify tendencies within your
organization towards high or low emissions for each category, as well as the
ability to compare your assets and company vs. peer fields/companies and
industry. A comprehensive report will be supplied to your organization
detailed by peer asset categories. A private debriefing will be
offered to help focus your team on immediate solutions.
This analysis will be focussed on Upstream Assets. A key requisite is a
good schematic of the equipment in place for each installation. For the
Pilot project in Q1 2010, we will cover a diverse range of Offshore & Onshore
assets, and are seeking a handful per participant. The larger Commercial
study in 2011 would analyze a larger number of your assets.
You should participate in this study if you ...
- need to address growing environmental focus by governments & Stakeholders
- want comparative GHG/CO2 benchmarks for your oil or gas operations
- need reliable information to set specific achievable objectives for asset teams
- want to understand asset M&A implications.
